Dr.Bro.George Kalangod – Provincial Superior
The Province of Yercaud is the mother Province of the Indian Provinces. Historically it is an old Province with many senior Brothers rooted in Gabrielite traditions and spirituality. The average age of the Brothers is more than 51. While we are proud of our past history and achievements, the Province has many ‘new’ and ‘vibrant’ characteristics acquired especially after the formation of Yercaud Province in 2007. The Province has built up more than 8 institutions within a short span of 14 years. In spite of many disadvantages in terms of shortage of personnel and limited number of Institutions, the Province is surging forward with greater thrust in vocation promotions, on going formation, innovations in education mission and effective management of finance and re-sources. Even senior Brothers above 75 years of age continue to contribute their share with tremendous commitment and responsibility. The younger ones though few in numbers are the ‘hope’ of our province and we see in them a strong spirit of ‘Montfortian daringness’ which is inspiring more youngsters to join our fold.
